The Old Man and the Sea

Book cover design for “The Old Man and the Sea” by Ernest Hemingway

I started this project inspired by my fascination with the connection between text and image and the challenge of capturing a book’s essence in a single, balanced, and simple image - one that intrigues without revealing too much. I chose the old man’s hand gripping the rope as the focal point to symbolize resilience, a central theme. His intense grip, pushing into pain and wounds, becomes a metaphor that encourages viewers to question its deeper meaning, making them explore the story further.
